Reflection Week 6 Sean OBrien

Reading the articles today really opened my eyes. I guess i fall under the stereotype of westerners that talk about how the Middle East has been one of hostility since the beginning. I know that the articles talk about how early middle eastern Generals in particular were nothing more than merhants and vendors. I think that still stand by my viewing of the  middle east. They are constantly fighting and in my mind always have. The citizens of Mexico are shooting mortars across the border to hit towns in the US, The United States isn't bombing strategic locations in Canada such as the keystone pipeline. I like to think that the west is more civilized than the Middle East. I dont know what it is about that region. I mean like you always say, every time i turn on CNN,FOX NEWS, NBC the news and images going from the Middle East is not pretty. Granted the world cannot be completely in harmony all at once, I understand that. But realistically I do not know how substantial peace in the Middle East can last. The only situation I could see if the Israelis were not in there. They seem to be enemy numero UNO.
