Reflection-Sean OBrien

The Current political situation has managed to bring the middle East into the forefront of the political field. I thought that with the current financial situation and healthcare debate raging as well as the withdraw from Afghanistan that the middle east would be left out of the current spectrum. However, as we saw in the Second Presidential debate it was front and center. The issue of the Libyan embassy and how it was overthrown is being questioned by the not only scholars and the media but US citizens as well. A person at the town hall debate in New York, directly challenging the current administration. It was great to have this issue on such a large spectrum. Unfortunately, as you have pointed out in past classes usually when we receive news from the Middle East it is not good. However, the fact that US citizens are interested and trying to figure out what is going on is really quite remarkable. I think that of all the regions in the world that the middle has been and probably will be(Well until the oil runs out) a hotbed of rebellion as well as interest. I am curious for the final debate if the middle east is brought more onto the stage or if it was because of the timing of the event fit in with the debate? We shall see
